Are you ready to cross over with the Compass? Read our 2018 Jeep Compass review from Rockwall CDJR and decide whether it has the features and capabilities to handle your driving needs in Lavon, Fate, and Heath!
2018 Compass: Exterior Features
Jeep vehicles are known for their seamless blend of style and function, and the 2018 Compass exterior is a perfect example of this. Stare down the front fascia, and you’ll be greeted by a distinctive 7-slot grille that pays homage to classic Jeep styling.
However, that traditional grille is bookended by modern convenience in the form of sleek and sharp headlights. The daytime running lamps are outlined by an available LED lighting strip to add definition. Projector beam headlamps illuminate automatically in the dark, and available cornering fog lamps give you a sneak peek around corners, so you know what’s coming as you turn.
Jeep Performance Specs
The Jeep Compass runs on a 2.4L MultiAir® I-4 engine, good for up to 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission in the base engine and a 6-speed automatic in the upper trims. Though front-wheel drive comes standard, four-wheel drive is available.
You’ll find that the Compass does its best work in the dirt. It’s incredibly off-roading capable, especially in the Trail Rated® Trailhawk trim. From navigating streams and flooded underpasses up to 19 inches deep to clearing up to 8.5 inches of rocks, brush, and jagged ground, the Compass Trailhawk is the best way to experience nature up close and personal.
Connectivity on the Go
As you careen through streams, down hills, and over rugged terrain, you can still stay connected to civilization with the Jeep Uconnect® infotainment system. We recommend upgrading to the optional Uconnect® 4 system, which includes a 7- or 8.4-inch touchscreen and features like Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
With them, you can send texts and make calls via voice command, so you don’t have to stop or pull over when you have something important to say.
Upgrade to the Uconnect® 4C NAV system, and you’ll get an 8.4-inch touchscreen that adds Navigation to the mix. You’ll get convenient maps and voice-guided, step-by-step directions to your destination, helping you optimize your time on the road.
