2018 Ram 2500: Engine Performance Specs
Before you get behind the wheel of the Ram 2500, you’ll have to choose between three available engine options. The base engine is a 5.7L HEMI® V8 that delivers 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. It uses Variable Valve Timing to provide optimal torque over a wide RPM range.
For max hauling capacity, choose the 6.4L HEMI® V8 engine with 410 horses and 429 lb-ft of torque on tap. It can haul up to 3,990 pounds, more than enough to haul a bed stacked with bags of concrete.
Rounding off your options is the 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel I6 engine, which produces 370 horsepower and an incredible 800 lb-ft of torque. This engine has the best towing capacity of the three, at 17,980 pounds. It also has a 15,000-mile oil change interval, so you can do a lot of driving before routine oil maintenance is needed.
2018 Ram: Technology Features
To help you stay connected while you’re on the job or on the go, the 2018 Ram 2500 offers a Uconnect® infotainment system with an available 8.4-inch touchscreen. With a screen that size, your truck becomes a moving office with its own computer. Experience fast 4G LTE internet service, as well as Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ support intuitive smartphone integration.
The available cargo-view camera will give you more peace of mind when you’re hauling heavy loads. With it, you can see the contents of your truck bed from the Uconnect® display, so you can rest easy knowing your cargo is secure for the duration of your drive.
Ram 1500: Interior Features
The Ram 2500 comes standard with heavy-duty vinyl seats, but you can upgrade to Ram Work Grade vinyl seats for even more durability and quick, easy cleanup after your toughest jobs. On higher trim levels, leather upholstery is available, and the top-tier Laramie Longhorn trim uses premium filigree leather for a luxurious, refined look.
If you choose the Crew Cab body style, you’ll benefit from some added under-floor storage beneath the rear seats. It’s a convenient place to store all the essentials, from toolboxes to cargo tie-down straps and jumper cables.
