2022 Jeep Gladiator Preview

2022 Jeep Gladiator Preview

Jeep vehicles are known for being rough and tumble trucks capable of heading off the beaten path. One popular option that is anticipated to be part of the 2022 Jeep lineup is the Jeep Gladiator. Named after mighty warriors, the 2022 Jeep Gladiator doesn’t back down from a challenge.*

Rockwall Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR) is happy to introduce this up-and-coming truck to drivers from Rockwall, Terrell, Rowlett, and Wylie, Texas. Below, we’ll cover some of the basics that made the Gladiator a tough and enjoyable ride.

Performance and Off-Road Capability

The 2021 Jeep Gladiator is a truck that gives you plenty of power to get you where you need to go. It works with 4×4 capability with most trims, allowing for better grip when you’re on uneven terrain.

The 3.6L V6 engine delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque with the manual 6-speed transmission. A manual transmission gives you that in-the-action feel for a sportier drive.

Since the Gladiator is a truck, that means it’s got the ability to tow. We predict that the 2022 Gladiator will have a maximum towing capacity similar to the 2021 model: 7,650 pounds when properly equipped. The payload capacity—when properly equipped—is likely going to be around 1,700 pounds, which is the maximum capacity of the 2021 Jeep Gladiator.

Depending on what type of off-roading you’re anticipating doing, either the Mojave trims or the Rubicon trims may be your go-to’s. The Rubicon trim excels with rocky terrains, while the Mojave does well with sand.

Inside the Cab

We can expect the inside of the 2022 Gladiator to have a mix of comfort and practicality like its 2021 counterpart. There’s likely going to be enough room for five passengers and even storage inside the cab behind the rear seats. Legroom in the cabin should be about 41.2 inches in the front and 38.3 inches in the rear. Cloth upholstery should also be standard, along with push-button start technology.

Like the 2021 iteration, you can look forward to having an infotainment system inside the 2022 Gladiator that is powered by Uconnect® 4 with a 7-inch display. Voice activation will let you keep your hands on the wheel while making phone calls, changing songs, and even getting directions.

Exterior Features

The Gladiator has one bed size with plenty of room for whatever supplies you need to bring along on your adventure.

What makes the 2021 Gladiator unique as a truck is that the windshield folds down, and you can remove all four doors. You can even opt for a soft top or a 3-piece hardtop. These features give you the true, doorless Jeep experience when you’re off-roading while getting the capabilities of a truck.

To prep your Gladiator for off-roading, you can get skid plates, all-terrain tires, and tow hooks for your truck. The Rubicon has rock rails on its lower half to help protect the Gladiator’s body even more.
