Engine Options and Power
The Gladiator has two engine options to choose from: one gas and one diesel. Both offer impressive power and towing capacity, so you can get the most out of whichever you prefer.
The standard is a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 gas engine that produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. To help optimize engine efficiency, the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 works with Engine Stop-Start technology.
The diesel engine offers more torque. The 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 generates 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Towing and Payload Capacity
The Gladiator offers a good amount of towing power for a truck its size. Depending on which engine you choose and how you equip it, you’ll get different towing capacities.
With the available 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine and when properly equipped, the Gladiator has a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 pounds.
If you’re looking for a bit more, the standard 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine offers it. When properly configured, the maximum towing capacity of the Gladiator with this engine is an impressive 7,650 pounds. This much towing capacity means you can haul small campers, boats, and even a horse trailer.
Since the Gladiator has a truck bed, that means you can load the bed with whatever you might need for your next adventure. The Gladiator has a maximum towing capacity of 1,700 pounds when properly set up. Grab camping supplies, ATVs, or dirt bikes and hit the road.
When you’re towing and hauling, you’ll want a couple of features to help you get the job done. The Gladiator has several to lend a hand.
To help you secure cargo in the truck bed, the Gladiator has four integrated tie-down loops that you can adjust when you need to and fold flush into the wheel wells when you don’t.
Want to cover the supplies in your truck bed? The available roll-up tonneau bed cover offers the ability to completely cover the truck bed or just open sections of it. You can even flip up the last five inches for longer items.
If you have a trailer hitched, the available integrated trailer brake controller helps you adjust the braking power of your trailer’s electric brakes so you can slow down and stop easier.
