Two Jeep Vehicles Top the “Most American” Vehicles List

July 19th, 2017 by

Just before Independence Day, Cars.com announced their slate of vehicles on their annual American-Made Index, and Jeep saw the Wrangler listed first with the Jeep Cherokee finishing in second.

The website uses the following vital criteria when evaluating vehicles for their list: domestic parts content, United States factory employment numbers, transmission country of origin, assembly location and engine country of origin. The Wrangler, assembled in Toledo, Ohio, features a domestic parts content that ranked among the highest of all vehicles considered: 75 percent for the Wrangler four-door, 74 percent for the Wrangler two-door.

Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA Global, said in a press release, “We are delighted to celebrate America’s most patriotic day with the news that Cars.com’s American-Made Index has ranked Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee as the two overall most-American vehicles for 2017. On this Fourth of July holiday we salute the dedicated employees who build Wrangler and Cherokee, as well as the loyal Jeep owners who drive them.”
